What I found was a fantastic creative community and great venues to showcase art. I’ve been able to experience Ox-Bow, Lake Michigan creatives and a true community of support to help Artdujour find it’s footing.
The 35th annual #bluecoastartists will showcase the talented creative community on a lovely October weekend in a few days. My farm was once on the tour when the talented sculptor and welder Terry Thomas opened his studio that weekend five years ago. I fell in love with the idea of working full-time as art director to artdujour.org while hosting classes and workshops on the almost 20 acres here.
Alas fast forward, the torch passed on and many a sculpture lives in the space I’ve recreated as #artfarmfennville. I’m delighted to call this patch of land home. My skills have grown as welding, and feral farm girl maintence continue to be my main stay of form and function here in fabulous Fennville.
I’ll be hosting another Democratize The Bean Workshop this Saturday. Find the offerings on airbnb experiences and join us as we roast fair trade beans from Nicaragua and Chiapas Mexico. The last month of roasting and coffee education coming to a close as the weather turns.
As a ode to this ole farm, my five year anniversary is coinciding with the Blue Coast Tour. Stop in and say hello is you venture down 66th st. I’ll have artisan roasted beans for sale, my studio might be open ( weather permitting) to showcase my latest round of creative awesome-asembledge art ala found object metal .
Thank-you to this amazing community as we say good by to the summer season and a great year of hosting classes, workshops #hipcamp and @airbnbexperiences. @christine_currie
