We've had some fun fall workshops here in #fabulousfennville with a shout out to the fantastic event setting @VirtueCider hosting the next round of community centric Makers of all shape and Artisan types here in the Mitten State, called that as I clip the tips from my gloves. We had wwoofers that made things fantastically artisticly unhinged with book arts throughout the summer. Hooray to Kevin our Bookbinder and graphic artist that's got a great halloween offering at his site. Look here for a bite of his offerings. We love the summer camps and the #hipcampers who stumbled into art and music offered by Art duJour @artfarmfennville this summer. Next year we'll tweak the August offerings so there's more to choose from.
Fall is a Fantastic time to visit Saugatuck and Douglas with Artist walks and The Blue Coast Art Tour in it's 29th year. The Coptic Stitch: a practical binding technique, Register here. The beauty of creating a functional form of expression. Those of us pen to paper types, scribblers of pencil sketch, dabblers of water color journal or sketch book. Join us for a three hour hands-on workshop, learn step by step to create your own functional art books. Materials and tools provided, although we encourage you to bring your own if you prefer. Each participant takes home a fine example of coptic stitch notebook/sketchbook. $45.00/ with $12 materials fee. 12+. Lunch will be available through Grow, preorder or bring a sack lunch to enjoy Art du Jour presents Art Farm Fennville Workshops and Classes, Summer 2018: Book Arts Series with Kevin Kissinger is a Michigan native and recent nomad. He received a B.A. in painting & sculpture from Albion College. While employed at Hollander's paper store in Kerrytown, he rekindled his interest in bookarts and enjoys sharing the practice with others. Currently he is visiting farms through WWOOFUSA and traveling by bicycle. |
