Short stories that pack a punch as amazing short films effect a sense of brave choices. You may sit and compose yourself emotionally eviscerated as you find yourself after this Wittman sampler sized film experience .
No spoilers.. It’s a hella wallop you’ll get from the powerful 112 minute roller coaster of emotional film making made as exquisite an experience as the world deserves in this moment. No topic too tough to muster the spirit and expertise to tackle the bunch of the non-animation live shorts nominated for this years consideration for the Oscar.
The bunch as a single bite seating deliver very right now sentiments. If the tide could turn a tender heart to acknowledge the suffering of the world, the Art of Independent Film brings a vision of bravery. Thank you writer and directors Jaime Donoghue,Patrick Vollrath, Benjamin Cleery with the greater community of creatives rally forth cameras and intent in hand to change the world. Bravo and thank-you one and all. Don’t miss them film art students. I’m recommending a screening of these beautiful little films, exquisitely crafted with strong storytelling.
Not feel good films by a long shot, but well crafted work that will stick around long after the credits roll.

Santa Cruz based writer Robert Sward shared news the Marsh Theater in San Francisco will debut his poem adapted for the stage: “Gloria, A Monologue” Monday May 9, 2016 brown paper tickets. or at the box office The Marsh Theater 1062 Valencia Street San Francisco, CA 94110
As the complexities of the world fall away, finding beauty and inspiration means renewing the sense of well being we all seek perhaps what is needed is some appreciation of the gift of time. The time to strike a balance by way of paying attention to life. Prioritize an artistic outlet, a moment to reflect to write to ponder prose.
The long list of what’s inspiring as of late is in the details of everyday and the many talents we encounter along the daily route that is life. The past year gives way to anew and before that happens I’d like to give a star spangled, frosting covered, warmed by the flames of the wood burning stove welcome to Camden Maine, and the genius of design studio 82 Pearl. Creating everyday and posting original work daily. Nothing like a carrot and a stick to lead those fearless souls into the portfolio building daily practice of making it happen. Bravo and thank you for the creative output and beauty brave one.
Yoga and wellness in the enclave of Santa Cruz needs little introduction. In a town where you can’t swing a hula hoop and not hit a studio of yoga the bright light of Susan Merritt and the Body and Soul Studio here at Squid Row. Susan is a true force of knowledge and technique to get one back into a triangle pose after injury.
Robert Sward poet and writer, leads my writing group to a higher ground of prose and faith in the pen. My gratitude to you. Writing group Tuesday attendees continue to amaze and awe my world weekly.
It is of great faith I place in this endeavor to manufacture sentences to spin a yarn of feeble beginnings with high hopes of rewrite rebirth or maybe simply rejoice. Taking the time and making the priority that creative life requires is a kind of gift to mankind really. It’s the prospect of soul filling experience due to the ingenuity and candor a creative life engenders. It is this hope that propels a new years’ wish that we seek to inspire and collaborate as a lifeline of sorts for adding value to a landscape that forgets the reasons one might embrace.
Inspired Inspiration feels a lot like indigestion. Indigestion of the mind perhaps as it’s plate can be filled with a simple pastime, passage of wonder plus materials to transform.
It is this delight to embrace another purview, one of wonder one of awe.
The new year holds a bountiful amount of wow, here’s to discovering what’s on your plate.
