Treasures of Trash become Art Saturday August 26, 2017
Sandra Hansen http://www.sandrahansen.com/ has developed a process to incorporate single use bags, and other plastics into beautiful hand crafted paper.  This three hour workshop covers basic techniques with recycled materials for paper making.  We’ll share a recycle bin of available materials and students are encouraged to bring any thing they deem worthy of using. Basics like sheet forming, pressing and drying using a large format deckle and assorted pulps will be the focus of the workshop.
This hands-on workshop is a great way to try on a new art form.  We will explore the possibilities of what recycling might add to our paper projects.  Experiment with textures from objects of throw away society-
